About Talat Market

Talat Market grew from a pop up to a brick and mortar restaurant, opening spring of 2020 in the Summerhill neighborhood of Atlanta, Georgia. Co-owners Parnass Savang and Rod Lassiter cook using Thai technique and featuring local Georgia ingredients.

Located at 112 Ormond St SE, Atlanta, GA 30315, Talat Market operates as a thai restaurant serving Atlanta in Georgia. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as restaurant, so it may cover more than the name suggests.

This group covers Japanese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, Indian and other Asian cuisines that are not Chinese, and the etiquette varies by kitchen. Japanese and Korean restaurants often take reservations for dinner and may add a service charge for large groups; Thai and Vietnamese spots are usually walk-in and quick-turnover. Spice levels are frequently adjustable on request at Thai, Indian and Sichuan-adjacent menus, so say if you want it mild or hot. Korean BBQ restaurants typically charge per person for all-you-can-eat service with a time limit, and grills are shared at the table. Vietnamese pho shops post bowl sizes (regular or large) and a plate of herbs, bean sprouts and lime is normal to add yourself. Card and tap-to-pay are widely accepted; cash-only is more common at small family-run counters.

The business lists hours on 5 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 5–10 pm. Note that it does not open on Monday, Tuesday. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is (404) 257-6255. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, talatmarketatl.com.

On Google it holds a rating of 4.6 out of 5 from 570 reviews, which is a strong result for a thai restaurant in Atlanta and suggests consistent service.

Atlanta is in Georgia, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. Getting around Atlanta is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Georgia's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

This was our favorite restaurant we ate at during our trip to Atlanta! We got their Thai iced tea, raw oysters, crispy rice salad, fruit salad and scallop sangwa. Everything was so good but the scallops were so exceptional, we ordered a 2nd! The flavors were so fresh and delicious! We also ended our meal with an amazing coconut custard that was super light and not overly sweet.

Really enjoyed the Thai tea here and the rotating menu concept. The red curry was very light, and the rice salad was super crisp and fresh. They also had delicious chili oil that we were able to order on the side. Outdoor seating is very limited, but the staff were able to make room for us, even without a reservation

After a quick search Talat Market came up hitting all our criteria. A James Beard nominee and a Michelin recommended. And man oh man are we glad it popped up. We LOVED LOVED LOVED IT. You should know first off that their menu changes every week so the food I am going to review sadly might not be available. It is sad because it is all sooo delicious. The menu seems simple but it is simple to perfection with complex menu options. They suggest that you share, so we did. We ordered four dishes, a cocktail, and the two desserts. The cocktail was called Painkiller. It was simple and tasty. We picked our four dishes and the waitress paced it out for us so the progression built upon each dish. The first dishes to come out were Hoi Tod and the Crispy Rice Salad. OMG. We started out with a bang. The Hoi Tod was a seafood pancake and it was crisp to perfection. The showstopper of the whole meal was the Crispy Rice Salad. I can’t even explain the perfection that each bite was. How do they get the rice cooked to the perfect crispiness?? It is a must try and it is a staple menu item. You won’t be disappointed. The next dishes to come out were Yen Bang Bao Bao which is a rice noodle dish with po

We have been to Talat Market about 6 or so times in the last year. We enjoy the open kitchen concept. The menu changes often, and you do not always know what you're going to get. I've listed different dishes we've had over the year, which may not be on the menu when you visit. Overall, we love absolutely this place. There have been times we liked the menu less than others (please keep the steak on the menu!!). With that said, the cooking is superb, the flavors are standout, and the freshness of the ingredients is unparalleled. This is our favorite Thai restaurant in Atlanta. The green drink is where it's at; don't miss out on getting this. You can request it with alcohol. We've always loved the fruit salad; the funkiness of the fish sauce with fruit is welcoming. Recently, we had the crispy rice salad, which was wonderful. The garlic fried shrimp on the menu is good, but not my favorite. You are supposed to eat it with the shell on, but I found that to be a less than pleasant experience. The stir-fried cabbage is so simple yet packed with umami, and keeps you wanting to dig in. Their Thai chicken laap is super spicy but yummy. The grilled scallop dish comes with a flavor-packed de

We were able to get a small table inside by the bar looking out on the street. We got there early to get good seating. Service was phenomenal as well as I really enjoyed the food. Definitely a good experience if you’ve ever had their food and a must try place. We were there durning happy hour and order a dozen oysters, red curry, sticky rice , crispy, rice, salad and crab fritters. Parking can be on the street and easy to walk up to without any trouble.
